In Kesher recording studio, the campers focused their attention to their incredible division leader Bradley. In this song of appreciation, the campers reveal their true feelings about Bradley, with a generation alpha twist.
Each time that a camper did a music hobby, they were able to add one song to a giant spotify playlist. Now that the summer is over, we have compiled every song into one playlist so you all can listen and enjoy!
During Taste of Beber, we had two groups of campers record Beberized versions of songs. Based on how incredible they sounded, we know that we will be able to fill music hobbies for many years.
Throughout the summer, the music staff performed during song sessions, talent shows, evening programs, banquets, three day trips, and with rock band hobbies. Here are just a few videos of the Beber Band doing what they love!
Even more incredible cabin activities happened in the final two weeks of session two. Although no cabin activities were the same, all cabins were able to work together to create some amazing music!.
Jake, Liam, Gabe, Hazel, Gideon, and Eddie helped paint and build the newest guitar to the Beber collection! Go Cubs Go!
Although their band was unnamed, campers Max, Ezra, Allison, Jake, Sivan, and Landon were able to bring the energy and become one of the best bands this summer. They tackled two songs: Twenty One Pilots’ Ride and Imagine Dragon’s Believer. Even though two members were rookies, the rest of the band were able to dominate on Crown Hall stage for Fine Arts Fest!
Zach, Ari P, and Ari M had their hand on the button while channeling all of their energy into performing American Girl by Tom Petty. Their performance powered up all of Beber Camp and ensured no one was on mute when they received a standing ovation.
The rock band Submerged had a couple of last minute additions to help bring the house down at Fine Arts Fest. They rocked out to Oasis’ Wonderwall. After all, Submerged were the ones who saved us.
Hayden, Morgan, Reese, Ezra, and Ellie put their own twist on the song Fe!n to describe their experience at camp. As the Fe!ntastic Five, they were able to write, record, and even freestyle as a group.
This week in ramot recording studio, Zach and Xander went wild and made so much music. Zach recorded Girl In Green (a song which he performed in the talent show) and recreated the instrumentals from scratch. Xander added instruments to the Minecraft Creator song and made his own beat!
This group of ramot campers were able to learn three songs within the five day hobby period. From guitar solos to saxophones, the Chocolate Cows definitely stood out, and unlike their namesake, their track record was not spotty. Although they ended up playing Don’t Look Back in Anger by Oasis, we were able to sneak a recording of Blur’s Song 2.
Levi, Lily, and Charlee joined forces in kesher rock band as The Big Acorn. Together, they reminded Beber Camp what happens when they are back in Chicago, as they played and slayed End of Beginning by djo. We have footage from both their rehearsal during hobbies and their final performance at Fine Arts Fest!
Songwriting is an inherently creative process that these Ramot campers took very seriously - but they also kept it very lighthearted and fun. Ari, Jacob, and Xander, with help from Zach and Lila, created a modern-day masterpiece that truly holds a mirror up to our society. Or maybe it doesn’t. Either way it’s awesome.
The seed of the idea was that Ari saw an ad at the water parks for a shooting range that was advertised as “Fun for the Whole Family” and that idea was so ridiculous that it became our title.
From there it turned into a modern impressionist piece using images from Chipotle as a mood board, and with Kym Bird as a guest vocalist.
The track also uses the brand new Cubs electric guitar that was built by campers in hobby.
You should listen to this. Many many times. Thanks!
Ari M, Ari P, and Jacob came together as a band with one goal: to play Fe!n at Fine Arts Fest. Nothing was going to stop them. Not Ari P’s mic being too quiet and piano too loud. Not them having enough time to rehearse. Not them making the last minute decision to include solos. Not them being an actual band from a hobby. Yet the Last Minutes persist!
Liam and Hayden put their heads together to create a song that encapsulates everything great about the summer time in their makor rock band.
Jaden, Jack, Max, Landon, Evan, and Morgan created so many songs within the brief five day period they had for the recording studio hobby.
In recording studio, Ari and Jacob had a saxtacular time reverse engineering the sounds of the woodwind instrument to make this funky song.
This week in recording studio, Aaron, Chloe, Aria, Levi, Samantha, Noa, Jonathan, and Leah produced a multitude of original songs. The topics cover a wide variety of subjects, like talent show moo offs to being your true self. Take a moment to enjoy these amazing songs.
Artist in Residence and Beber Alumnus Zach Moss helped lead DJ hobbies for both Kesher and Ramot! Take a listen to the mixes that the campers created!
