Beberfest was a huge success, with even more bands than Fine Arts Fest despite the fact that it was only a 4-day hobby rotation! Here’s the videos of the band performances:
Beber’s latest supergroup Dipped is comin’ in hot right at the end of the session to remind camp that it ain’t over yet! They had one quick rehearsal before half the band dipped out the second day for the Senior Ramot trip and then one of the lead singers dipped out to star in the Musical. There was so much dippin’ it became their band name, but it didn’t stop them from learning a difficult song in a short hobby rotation. Check out their triumphant headline performance at BeberFest 2023 that earned them the title “Band of the Session” for Ramot!
Here’s a rare rehearsal clip filmed in the recording studio, when Lila was gone for Beauty and the Beast rehearsals and the stage was occupied too so we couldn’t rehearse there:
Yes, it’s that time again - after recording a version of this in 2019 and 2021, Lara and Natalie are back with their latest acoustic version of Russell is a Wiener. Russell Wiener is our Music Director, and the song you will probably recognize. Woo!
Get ready to groove to the rhythm of Mira and Caroline's electrifying songs "Not Scared Anymore", “Go For it” (art by Marin), “Creepy Old TV”, “Born to Die”, and “Part of Your World”. With Mira's fierce flow, and Caroline's banging beats, this dynamic duo will have you nodding your head and feeling the adrenaline surge through your veins. Let the power of their rap uplift and inspire you to chase your dreams and seize every opportunity that comes your way!
Here are some behind the scenes photos and videos - and even a recording of THREE original, very silly songs from Caroline and Mira in G1 (the second of which had help from some Makor friends and was recorded several weeks later), in addition to the whole cabin singing the Disney classic Part Of That World. Listen below!
Macy came to camp with two prewritten songs. She changed the lyrics to “Fight Song” and “Chicken Fried” to reflect her experiences coming to and leaving from Beber Camp. Evelyn and Saul both wrote their own covers of “I Want it That Way” and “Drivers License” based on their camp experiences. Evelyn and Whitney additionally wrote their own song, called “Love Yourself”.
During cabin activity it was decided that this cabin was so amazing that they deserved to have a whole song for them. By brainstorming many ideas about what made O1 a special cabin, they wrote a whole song and recorded it all together.
The K1 Kit Kats and K2 Big League Chew designed their own beat, and then wrote a rap verse over their beat. They then took turns adding individual embellishments, including hisses, pops, and lollipops, to round out their rap!
With raw emotion and captivating storytelling, Charli's music transcends boundaries and resonates deeply with listeners' hearts. She pours her soul into every word, crafting melodies that tug at the heartstrings and lyrics that paint vivid pictures of love, loss, and the human experience. Charli's dedication to her craft is evident, so get ready to be moved and inspired as you immerse yourself in the musical world of Charli, where passion and talent collide to create something truly extraordinary.
Introducing "SunRap"! A captivating rap beat crafted by the talented duo of campers Toby and Julius, who have transformed the beloved song "Everybody loves the sunshine" into an electrifying rap experience. This innovative collaboration brings together the warmth and joy of the original melody, infusing it with vibrant rap rhythms that will transport listeners on a sun-soaked journey. Prepare to be immersed in the fusion of classic and contemporary as Toby and Julius deliver a dynamic and infectious beat with a piano solo and also sax.
Caroline, Jenna, Rue, and Saul rewrote Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” into Beber’s new positive anthem of the session: “Good Vibes”. “Good Vibes” outlines all of the amazing activities that Beber Camp has to offer. From hanging on the aqua park to bird watching to dancing on Shabbat, these campers did it all!
Sammy, Rue, and Eleanor went from 0-212°F in an instant and their hearts shone bright as they performed. Their vocals were on fire and their drum skills were kicking. The energy they brought was flammable and spread through the audience like wildfire. Here they are performing “Seven Nation Army”!!
Back from the ashes, Vaporized has returned. This band, known for their chaos, and controversy, is back with a complete rebrand. With new music, new style, and new “family friendly” energy, this group of rockers is taking the world by storm. They’ve just released their newest song titled “Stormy Night” as a teaser for an album yet to be released, “Rainfall Symphony”. Check out some of their rehearsal footage, photos, and of course, the final product below…
Over 20 sound bites from various James Charles videos were collected through hours of tedious work. Clips were looped, fixed, edited, and repeated into oblivion. Thus, the “James Charles Slays” remix was born.
We will be posting performances from the Session 1 Staff Talent Show over the course of the next few days, starting with the first number - the entire Beber 2023 music staff playing a classic, complete with dark clothing and eyeliner.
We dedicated a hobby to sampling sounds heard around camp, and then manipulated those sounds into beats and music. In the piece below by the collective known as lyfenoizz you’ll hear the gate at the farm… tongs in the outdoor kitchen… the stool in Crown Hall… a guitar chord by Sam in guitar lessons… and a whole lot more. Check out this wholly original piece of musical awesomeness called lyfenoiz from their album lyfenoizez!
An epic performance ended the Pio Talent Show sess 1 2023 when members of Anything But reunited with reinforcements in a new project called Other Side of the Moon. The crowd was fully into it, rocking out deep into the night. We know we’ll be seeing a lot more from this band this session and hopefully beyond!
PLUS: Shayna and Jordan’s solo project from the talent show - Breakaway!!
O1 performed a rousing version of Love Story at the Maker talent show tonight, and right after found out that they were signed to a record deal and went immediately into the studio to record it! Here’s their debut release!
Crispy Mango Fire is burning up the Beber charts with their adaptation of an AC/DC classic now titled Highway to Elm (one of our amazing cabins!) Poster and video coming soon but for now enjoy the single - studio version AND a live rehearsal - audio AND video!
What's all the best stuff rolled into one? Crispy Mango Fire, that's what. Here's their hot take on a classic that'll have you rockin down the highway in a Firebird no matter what you drive!
Our first hit songwriting hobby was a rousing success, with songs in a variety of styles and themes but one common thing - they are all catchy, cool, and awesome.
First we have Simone, Abby, and Rachel who wrote a heavy, dark song about a transformation from human to wolf. Rock out with this on nice and loud! You can see their theme and lyric brainstorming above too!
We will have bark, leaves, and other random items in the studio carpet for a while but it was worth it so that G4 could gather items in nature (and beyond) and record them to see what they sound like in front of a mic - and here they are all mixed together for your listening enjoyment! Thanks G4!
