Tickle me Chickens are:

Sophie- Sophie is from buffalo Grove, Il. This is her fourth summer and has been a part of the stuido for all of them with Hannah Kaplan.

 

Melanie- Melanie is from Highland Park, Il. This is also her fourth summer at camp she has taken part in the stuido for 3 out of her 4 years.

 

Hannah Davidson- Hannah is from Buffalo Grove, il. This is her fourth summer at camp. She has taken part in the studio for 2 out of her 4 years.

 

Hannah Kaplan- Hannah is from Deerfield, Il. This her fourth summer and she has been in the stuido for all of them with Sophie.

David - Chicago, aged 9

 

Front Man & Rap God

David loves to edit videos. David’s inspiration for the song came from his videos and experiencing these with his friend. Him and his friends also love to catch Pokémon in their spare time.

Liam – Chicago, aged 9

Drumming Expert

Liam loves to play basketball and has done for 2-3 years. Liam’s basketball skills helped him find his way round the drum kit bouncing his sticks off drums and cymbals like he was on the court.

Daniel – Highland Park, IL, aged 10

Keyboard Wizard

Daniel has played piano for 5 years. He decided to test out different notes until he came up with the awesome piano riff. This riff will be engraved into your minds for years to come.

2 York Serenades Wisconsin

These two New York natives formed a band in Mukwonago, WI, and found a British producer/musician to join them for their recordings and lives shows. Check out their performances at BeberFest and listen to their live AND studio recordings!

Guitar Building Hobby just Keeps Rockin!

The Guitar Building hobby tried something new for 2017 and made lap steels - popular in Hawaiian and country music. The campers never fail to come up with great designs - we made two guitars, one of which looks like a tree with branches coming off the body, and the other is, of course, a guitar that looks like corn on the cob, with Asst. Dir. Joel Bennett's caricaturized face and a quote that he loves to say at dinner! Joel was flattered of course! Check out the photos of the making of the guitars!

The Villagers put the Pio Village on the Rock n Roll Map!

The Villagers are the first band ever to come out of the mean streets of Pio Village at Beber Camp. Their ferocious stage energy has become legendary, as you'll see from their landmark performance headlining the Fine Arts Fest below. You can also hear and download that performance AND their late-night recording session of Dani California below, and enjoy rehearsal videos too. If you can't take the rock, get out of the Village!

Air Guitar Takes the Stage at Beber

Air guitar Fever has gripped Beber, and cabin activities will never be the same again! Watch the ferocity and commitment these cabins are demonstrating as they go for the gold on the Air Band world stage! It's fun, it's good excercise, and frankly we just think it's funny watchin Makor kids rock out to 80's hair metal!

Songwriting Scores a HIT!

Check out this amazing song written by Madison Bird, Molly Handelman, Delilah Lerner, and Zoe Berlinger, based on a poem by Maddie Bird, and sung by Molly Handelman.

Debut of the Film Scoring Hobby!

The very first Film Scoring hobby ever at Beber Camp is in the books. Delilah and Tova from Ramot tackled two projects.

The first was to set Maccabiah highlights to music - they wrote high-energy music with several different themes, and it works perfectly.

The second is a study in contract between happy and sad music, and instead of using someone else's footage, they made their own movie highlighting all the great stuff at Beber Camp. And don't worry parents, the stuff you see over the sad music is not what the captions claim! Everything's great and the sun is ALWAYS shining at Beber Camp!

The Awesome Little Ladies!

The team in the Recording Stuido have been hard at work this week with The Awesome Little Ladies!

Hello! We are The Awesome Little Ladies, with Abigail (Abby), Allison (Ally), Olivia (Livi) and Lily. We are aged 8-9. Our favorite artists are Imagine Dragons, Taylor Swift (aka T-Swizzle) and Kungs and our favorite instruments are Guitar, Banjo and Piano. Our favorite animals are dogs, sharks, dolphins and bunnies.

Our song is called ‘We Knew We Were in Trouble’ and it’s about getting in trouble after we had a party in our cabin. At the end of the song, we apologize to Becky and we are allowed back to camp.

We think we’re going to rock the Beber Talent Show!

WE'RE BACK!!!

Tomorrow is the day that some new and old rockstars arrive!!! We are super excited to get to work! 

I personally have been at camp for 6 weeks now, making sure Crown Hall is ready to handle all that is awesome. It has started to have a makeover and we will be working through the summer to continue its transformation into the true home of music. 

This summer our team will consist of:

Hunter Borowick - A Rock god already at the age of 18. He will be heading up a lot of the Rock Band hobbies and Songleading. He is going to be rad!

Ethan Herman - From the UK, Ethan has a lot of knowledge in the recording stuido and can't wait to put together the latest hits for the summer with his partner in crime:

Charlie Box - Also from the UK, Charlie studied in the University of Derby (Where I also studied) and has just finished and is ready to apply all of his skills in making the hottest phat tracks that every camper will want to hear! 

Eddie Hochman - A true legend at camp, leading guitar lessons and helping run rock band. He is all for leading the next generation of rockstars! He has returned for his second year on the team and is so ready to be back!

Russell Wiener - This man requires no introduction. I am not worthy.

Myself, Will Jarvis - I can't wait for the campers to arrive, 5 years on staff, 3 as the Music Director. It is going to awesome and I am so lucky to have such a strong team!

Yes that's right, the Fine Arts 3-Day Trip, Session 2 2016, brought a full-on recording set-up with them, and recorded the theme song to their trip - Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On." Check it out!

It’s the Birkat Boys Hamazon, a lot of rockin’ and a lot of roll. We’re gonna scream it HIGH and sing it low. Then we’re gonna do some rock and roll, it’s the Birkat Boys, Birkat Hamazon.
